I took up photography in high school as means of gathering reference for illustrations. And while I do not consider myself a photographic artist, I combine a solid sense of composition and a thorough working knowledge of photographic principles, lighting and techniques to meet a wide range of visual problems. From staged sets to actual field assignments ( like sailing with a racing crew on the Chesapeake Bay ), there are few photographic challenges I haven't successfully met. Two of several covers and editorial compositions I did while with the Columbia Association are shown at left.
Most of my work over the last few years in the Valley has been product and location shooting. I am often required to work with clients' personal photos as well, and have considerable experience in Photoshop retouching and manipulation. A CD cover I recently created for a client required a shoot, then combining two shots for this precise composition. Click 'em for a PDF:
